REIKI FOR HUMANS & ANIMALS
Reiki for every heartbeat: healing for all sentient beings.
Reiki for All
What is Reiki?
Reiki (ray-key) is Japanese for ‘universal life energy' and is used to describe a system of natural healing. This tradition was founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century and evolved as a result of his research, experience and dedication. We live in a world of energy that nourishes and maintains all living things. When this energy flows uninterrupted there is balance and harmony within and around us, and we experience a sense of well being.
There are many variations of Reiki, but in essence Reiki sessions can help the body physically, emotionally or spiritually. It is a tradition that is open to any belief system. Reiki can be used alongside other conventional or complementary treatment.
There are no known contra-indications for Reiki. It is a non-intrusive treatment that can be delivered in a variety of settings and requires no special equipment.

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”
What happens in a session?
The client remains clothed and lies on a couch or sits on a chair and relaxes. The practitioner gently places their hands in a series of non-intrusive positions on or near the body. There is no massage or manipulation. The whole person is treated rather than specific areas. Sessions can take 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the client’s needs.
Reiki practitioners are not trained in diagnosis and will not predict any specific outcome from treatment. If people are concerned about their symptoms they should see a doctor.
Each person experiences Reiki differently depending on their individual needs at the time. Clients may or may not feel sensations during a Reiki treatment. Benefits reported include deep relaxation promoting a calm, peaceful sense of well being on all levels. Some people feel sensations of heat, tingling, or experience seeing colours, whilst others can have an emotional response, indicating that shifts are taking place, allowing harmony to be restored.
Reiki for Humans
I provide a mobile service, bringing reiki sessions to your home so you can rest and integrate without the need to travel afterward. After experiencing how unsettling it felt to leave a treatment and make my way home, I began offering at-home sessions so you can remain in the comfort of your own space. Distance reiki sessions are also available.
Reiki for Horses and humans
I also offer joint sessions for horse and guardian/carer. Because horses are highly sensitive to human energy, providing reiki to both horse and human helps restore balance and harmony within the partnership.
Reiki is offered to support a horse’s general wellbeing and is not intended as treatment for specific medical conditions. If your horse appears unwell, please consult a veterinarian.
As noted by The Reiki Council: “Reiki is a procedure that would not normally be regarded as the practice of veterinary surgery under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966; though it would be prudent for [an] animal to have been seen by a veterinary surgeon when this is being performed for reasons other than well-being.”
Reiki with Horses
Don’t have your own horses? Join the horses at The Holistic Horse and Pony Centre for an outdoor reiki session.
Horses are highly intuitive, energetic beings. They sense and respond to subtle energy, supporting deep relaxation and emotional release.
Sessions run from May to September and take place outside with one or more horses. The outdoor setting, gentle horse presence, and tailored energy work create a calming, grounding experience.
Reiki for Dogs & Cats
I completed Animal Reiki Level 1 (May–June 2023) and Level 2 (Aug–Sept 2023) with Ali, founder of Calm Kind Happy, in the Let Animals Lead™ method. I offer reiki for dogs, cats and their humans via in-person or distance sessions.
